In graphic design, meaning can be expressed using images (photos), typography (words or typographic treatments) and graphic elements (shapes, icons or symbols). Without showing the word itself, these posters—if I managed to do so—should instantly be recognized by a viewer as depicting a person who is emotionally lost on the one hand and another who is physically lost.
